 Artist County

I aim to merge the subconscious and the conscious; the waking and dreaming mind in my works. I choose to paint in acrylic on panel because I want my paintings to be stable and last a long time. I take lots of photos and make sketches and study plants and anatomy of animals, so that I can more clearly illustrate my pictures. It’s a full time job, often without payment in the greenback sense. Perhaps it’s my color blindness, or affinity for color that bends the rules color-wise. Perhaps it’s my background as a drummer that gives my compositions rhythm and form, and my interactions with graffiti, illustration, studio ala prima, and plein air that fill the rectangular picture plane. Regardless, to invest in me, I feel, is a good idea.
