Jury - 2023 CHESTER COUNTY STUDIO TOUR

Through layers of collage, color, mark-making, and textures, I paint mandalas inspired by the centuries-old South Indian geometric meditative art called Kōlam with distinct intricacy, precision, and symmetry. Painting a mandala gives me a feeling of belonging and identity, a practice that helps me connect with my childhood, history, and heritage, and a portal to find my momentary peace.
