Jury - 2023 CHESTER COUNTY STUDIO TOUR

I create intuitive, colorful artworks. My artworks are abstract in nature but some representational elements pop up periodically as the painting demands.
My tastes are eclectic and that reflects in my art as well. My Indian roots, life in US, engineering background, travels and my current home in idyllic Chester County all inform my art.
The paintings are my exploration of the seen versus unseen. Even in their most abstract forms, my paintings are deeply rooted in my life experiences and aspirations. On the surface the first impressions to a viewer are the bright colors and the bold shapes, but as they spend more time with the painting, the details draw them to look deeper and explore.
What I find most rewarding is when through the abstraction, people are able to connect to an emotion, or a place, or a symbol or a time in their life. Sometimes it matches my idea and that is great but what is even better is when they have a completely new experience and I rediscover the painting through their eyes.
