Laurie Lamont Murray is best known for her abstract paintings and metal sculptures, although her love of drawing and trying new things has often led her to portraiture, landscapes and (usually humorous) paintings of animals. Recently she has added encaustic, clay and collage to her toolbox and her architectural design background is evident in everything she does. In 2021 Laurie and two other art professionals founded Pictor Gallery in Chelsea, and having her first solo show in New York was a career high point for her. Laurie has won numerous awards in the greater Philadelphia area and her work is included in corporate and private collections througout the U.S.
