I am a self-taught woodworker living in New London, PA. Unlike many woodworkers, I rarely do commission work because I do not like to confine myself to specific plans before a build. Rather, I often start with a rough sketch of what I want to make, and enjoy the freedom to alter the plans as the build progresses. Because of this, no two completed projects are ever the same, ensuring that each piece is unique. I love the beauty of wood with all its imperfections, so my projects typically have a very natural, somewhat rustic, appearance. Consistent with this philosophy, I tend to use finishes that bring out the natural color of the wood rather than stains or dyes, and I rely on traditional wooden joinery such as mortise and tenon joints rather than screws.
