If I knew how to describe my work in words, I’d be a writer, not an artist
That being said…

It’s all about the Brushwork

I find working in watercolor to be the most rewarding, yet challenging, of the art forms. Managing the unpredictability of the water and pigment helps me form dramatic skies, seas, and the physical texture of real objects. The brush, the paint, and the water are my tools used to create paintings infused with emotion and a sense of realism in time and place. Beaches and harbor scenes, old boats and barns are the places and things that, for various reasons, move me … I feel a connection. With each painting, I start a story that you can complete.

Coastal Maine to NC are my inspirational environments. I’m drawn to back-bays, salt marshes and less traveled roads. Growing up, I explored, sailed, fished, surfed and swam on the coast. My fondest memories are of islands with unpaved gravel roads, old docks, wood boats, empty beaches, and rock jetties. My grandfather and uncles were carpenters and baymen, a heritage that has influenced me and my art.

I am a featured artist at galleries in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey and have received awards at regional art shows and Art Societies. My illustrations have appeared in books and magazines about the New Jersey coast and his paintings are in private and corporate collections in the U.S., Europe, and Bermuda.
