I am a local West Chester ceramicist. Inspiration for my work comes from exploring the outdoors with m pup, Slip. My forms and surface treatments are reflections of the observed natural world, brought back to my studio. Once I have created a form and carved its surface, I fire my work in a wood kiln, stocking a fire for 24 hours to reach 2350 degrees F. This firing process allows the spontaneous forces of the flame and wood ash to further enhance the natural quality of my pieces.
