I'm a second career artist inspired by the country roads and hiking trails of Lancaster County. I use aqueous media combined with soft pastels and charcoal to explore the liminal space between drawing and painting. While I enjoy the camaraderie and unique challenges of painting en plein air, I value time in my home studio discovering new ways to express the textures and atmosphere of the local landscape. My formal art training in printmaking, specifically the intaglio process, calls me to consider light and shadow and encourages layering and innovative marks. My work has been included in national and international exhibitions and was most recently recognized by the Maryland Federation of Art, the Lancaster Museum of Art and the Touchstone Center for Crafts.
