Fine Art Oil Painting
I paints in oils in a traditional manner. Many of my paintings have animals as the subjects. “Animals paint themselves, I just hold the brush as they come to life.” Their emotion is there on the surface and their story is all in their eyes. My paintings of animals have captured the heart of many collectors. I also enjoy landscape painting as a plein air painter in competitions. I am member artist Oil Painters of America, Delaware Valley Art League, Artist Equity of Philadelphia, Davinci Art Association, and has been creating oil paintings for over 15 years. Along with participating in previous Chester County and Montgomery County studio tours, I have also been in Brandywine Valley Plein Air, West Reading Plein Air, Philadelphia Sketch Club Between Two Rivers Plein Air, Chadds Ford Plein Air along with many juried competitions.
Foreign travel over the past few years has given me a new appreciation of the incredible beauty of this area. With my paintings, I hope to give others a view into my world.
Using the familiar landscapes, animals, and surrounding life, I create an earthy and emotive interpretation of my world. Oil paint is my main love. The visceral texture and colors make what I am trying to convey so much easier. Plein air landscape painting has both a challenge and the best teacher ever. Competing in plein air events in the past few years has taught me so much about patience, values, color mixing, and capturing the moment.
