I am a Clay Monoprint Artist. I work on a slab of clay and use wet clay (slip), colored with permanent pigments, as my "paint." My work begins with several layers of slip applied to my slab as a background. I then begin to incorporate designs, images, a variety of colors and textures to create a composition that evokes an emotion or memory. When I am ready to "pull" a print, I lay a textured material on the slab and with a roller transfer the image from my slab to the material. All of my work is one of a kind and original. My art reflects many layers and reminds all of us that underneath the layers there are hidden gems, strength and resilience.
