Jackie Henisee is a Chester County Ceramicist. Inspiration for her work comes from exploring the outdoors with her pup, Slip. Her forms and surface treatments are reflections of the observed natural world, brought back to her home studio. Once Jackie has created a form and carved its surface, she fires her work in a wood kiln, stoking a fire for 24 hours to reach 2350° F. This firing process allows the spontaneous forces of the flame and wood ash to further enhance the natural quality of her pieces. Jackie’s love for clay grows more and more with each passing year with each firing a new discovery is uncovered.
