Mixed Media

I draw comparisons between layers within domestic architecture and the identity of the individual. These ideas are related through materials, process and concept. Mixed media paintings, freestanding sculpture and installation are comprised of items that include carved drywall, furniture pieces and wallpaper. Spaces are torn apart and tenderly pieced together to present an alternate perspective.

Combinations of soft and hard textures: floral and metallic, rough and delicate, are collaged together- none has priority over the other. It is desired that this layered identity engages the attention of the viewer and broader connections are forged.
