Oil Painting Wipe Out Technique

Matthew F. Dougherty

I have been a professional Artist since the age of 18 working for the Franklin Mint (Freelance) in the Plates Department creating Extensions. It was there that I was introduced to Neilson M Carlin and trained with him in Portraiture and Figurative Art. I advanced my career by attending the prestigious New York Academy of Art where I received an Apprenticeship and a Scholarship on Merit. I have advanced studies in Art holding a Master's +60. I also received the Violette De Mazia Scholarship and studied Aesthetics at the Barnes Foundation.

About the Demonstration

This method was first introduced to me at the New York Academy of Art (Where I trained for my MFA) by Patrick Connors. It is a basic method of getting a quick likeness of the subject. This is the beginning stages of a portrait painting.
