Full or part time artists working in the county are eligible to open their studios, once accepted. Any working artist can be a guest artist in any county; we can always find a Host’s Studio for you. County Studio Tour was created to offer the public an opportunity to be invited into the working spaces of artists in the community and to have an authentic experience visiting a working artist. It is not intended for temporary set-ups in businesses or pop-up spaces.
Chester County Studio Tour is always the weekend right after Mother’s Day and before Memorial Day in May.
Montgomery County Studio Tour is the fourth weekend in September.
The tour takes place in your studio. The public is interested in seeing what makes you an artist, including your studio space. This event is a great opportunity for you to discuss your process and concepts in the place where it all happens.

As a Host Studio, you may also exhibit up to four guest artists. Your guest artists must also apply and be accepted by the jurors.
CATALOGUE: Chester County studios are allotted 120 full-color catalogues (other counties' quantities may vary) for distribution at your studio. There will be an additional amount of full-color catalogues printed and distributed at local businesses throughout the county. Each studio will be represented by a full page that includes Hosts (and Guest Artists, if applicable), art image, name, medium, email and website. Your host studio will also be listed on the Studio Tour Map.
WEB PRESENCE: Each studio will be listed on the website as a studio and as an artist. Each studio will be represented by a web page that includes their artwork, name, medium, email and website. Your studio will also be welcomed and announced on our Facebook Fanpage.
SIGNAGE & BANNER: Each studio will be assigned one 3'x8' CST banner announcing their participation in this year's event. The studio will also be assigned twelve CST directional signs to assist visitors. Many visitors come from around and outside your county. Signs should be displayed far enough away from the studio to attract passing attention and guide visitors directly to your studio. Please don't post signs on city property, and get permission of property owners to place signs on private property. Signs and banners will only be used during the Open Studio Tour event and then returned to CST.
COUNTY COLLECTORS: Participating artists will be provided a 6" x 6" board and frame to create an original piece of art and sell it for $90. This piece will be heavily advertised and attract early collectors to your studio Saturday morning.
COUNTY STUDIO TOUR LOGO: Participating artists have the right to use the County Studio Tour logo, displayed at their studios, and in personal promotions as participants for the participating year.
You get a lot of the same benefits of a host studio without the clean-up, but we'd appreciate it if you'd help your host studio. It's the nice thing to do.

It is the same price as a host or a guest artist would pay. Registration fees are per individual artist, not per group. However, if a collective has more than 12 artists registered for the event, it would then qualify for a free full page ad in the catalogue. Artists working in collective studios should encourage their fellow artists to apply as a host studio for participation.
