To me abstract art is a compulsion. Compulsions are frustrating and random and not very elegant. So I layer on motion and chaos, trying to distill something poetic. If I don't feel the harmony coming from the disorder, I keep going. I'll know it when I feel it. It's like the smell of a struck match cutting the stagnant air with a sharpness that seems alive and exciting. Then...then I know to trap it in amber
