MEET THE ARTIST

For over 36 years I was an art teacher in the West Chester Area School District. The majority of the time I taught at Henderson High School. Personally, I primarily worked in clay, specifically sculptural forms. I also dabbled in wood working. When I retired, I decided to invest all of my efforts in developing my wood craft. I am mostly self-taught in this media but believe craftsmanship and aesthetic quality are extremely important parts of the creative process. The application of found objects are used when important to communicating overall concept to the work. I enjoy the process of working with each unique piece of wood, allowing it to speak and the give and take between media and maker.
