I am a ceramic artist who mainly works on the wheel to create pieces that are both visually engaging and practical for everyday use. I graduated from West Chester University with my BFA in studio arts in 2023. I currently teach pottery classes at the Chester County Art Association and manage the ceramics studio as the studio technician.
Functionality and durability are key aspects of my process. I strive to craft work with a tactile, sensory quality—one that can only be truly appreciated in person. I enjoy making functional items such as teaware, dinnerware, mugs, bowls, and decorative pieces like vases and planters.
My creative process begins with throwing forms on the wheel, followed by trimming at the leather-hard stage adding a foot or handle, and altering the pieces to achieve the desired form or look. Finally, I glaze my work by layering multiple glazes to achieve movement on my forms and a new array of colors. Ceramics allows me to express my passion for form, color, and process. Experimentation is essential to my process—it helps me avoid overthinking the outcome and encourages spontaneity. Through testing and experimenting, I’ve developed a deep love for every step in the ceramic process.
