MEET THE ARTIST

My work is an extension of a dialogue with the visible world. As an artist I am deeply interested in the qualities of the medium I’m using, whether encaustic, gouache, pastel, or silverpoint. Exploring ancient mediums along with more modern techniques, I aim to capture a feeling, particular time of day, climate, or stage of life in the subjects I study. My work is derived from direct observation with drawings and color studies providing the framework to build on. I have been painting for nearly 45 years. My interest and enthusiasm only continue to deepen.
