MEET THE ARTIST

Lauren Ariel is an abstract mixed-media painter based at The Upstairs Studio Artists in Phoenixville, PA. Her technique consists of layering watercolor, acrylic, oil pastel & guache onto paper or canvas to create dynamic interpretations of nature. Her work explores the connection between the human body and the natural world, and the way the two mimic each other; how internal pressure can become atmospheric. The use of multiple medias, including adding colored pencil and sometimes even found material, add an earthly and point of grounding to almost ethereal emotion.
