Bradford Davis is a multimedia artist who uses ceramics as the catalyst to express feelings, emotions, and responses to his life experiences. As a disabled veteran, Davis mines his traumas and journey of healing to feed his creative research. In his sculptural work, Davis employs fibers, metal, and or glass in collaberation with his ceramic vessels to highlight the personification of the vessel in its destruction and restoration. In his functional work, Davis is exploring surface and color through addition and subtraction. Building a palimpsest of both visual and tactile intrigue. Davis earned his MFA at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art & Architecture and his BFA from the University of South Carolina. He has been an Artist in Residence at Tainan National University of the Arts, Taiwan and is currently a long term Artis in Residence at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia. His works have been shown internationally and can be found in the collection of the McKissick Museum.
