I have been painting since I could first hold a brush at age three and it has been part of my life path ever since. A few years later music became part of my journey as I played classical violin for nine years, taught myself guitar and then entered the world of North Indian classical music and bansuri bamboo flute. I have had the honor and fun of musically accompanying Coleman Barks at many Rumi poetry venues, and I'm looking forward to this Studio Tour event!
About the Demonstration
When we turn off the outer world and tune in to our heart energy, we all can become artists. The magical interplay of music and poetry is an opportunity tap into that creative flow through deep listening and relaxation. Participants can bring a simple notebook or sketch pad to draw what easily comes through as a " poetry portrait". The beautiful illustrations that will be surrounding us had their origins in a similar way. You can choose to draw or just sit back and enjoy. Tea will be served.
