Using the ancient Japanese tradition of Nerikomi, I'll demonstrate how I blend colored porcelain, form components of a flower design, and build a flower cane—a tube of clay containing a continuous pattern from end to end. I use slices of these canes to decorate functional porcelain pieces and create beads for ceramic jewelry.
