Cover It Up Creations Jewelry was founded and born in 2004 with a beading obsession that turned into a metalsmithing passion many years later.
A self-taught metalsmith who plays with gemstones, metals, and fire to grind out one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry for those who dare to be different.
I am a one-woman business with lots of grit, banging out creations that last generations for the courageous and determined go-getters. I use unique and bespoke designs often featuring upcycled materials giving them new life. That is the feeling given to anyone who slips into a piece of my handcrafted jewelry. Empower yourself into fierceness and collect a piece for yourself or as a gift to someone you love.
Sustainability is very important to me and my business. We need to do better in every aspect to help save our environment and for the sake of a cleaner future for our ecosystem. That is why upcycling is so important to me, my work, and our planet.
Materials I use in my work varies from gemstones, found objects, upcycled pool balls, bowling balls, dice, old coins, pieces from vintages forks, spoons, or knives. One of my favorites is something called Fordite. Fordite is taken from layers of baked, dried-up enamel paint which has been broken up at the Ford plant and sold as slabs. Lapidary artists (someone who cuts gemstones) form cabochons (a dome shaped stone) to sell to crafts-men/woman to use in their creations. Forging something with a past that is made into something new, turns into a priceless treasure, with an incredible story behind its beauty manifesting the courage to live on. Creating from my soul to my fingertips is what fuels my inner flame!
