My Art Description:
When I walk through the natural world taking pictures, I am in a state of heartfelt awe because I see the Creative Force that created this beauty. Rather than documenting nature as scenery, my hope and intention is that I can get others to see as I see.
I often think to myself, “O, Man, you think you are so clever. Can you create the subtle beauty of this flower that not only has fragrance, but can also recreate itself from seed to blossom?”
Each image is shaped by attentiveness to subtle gestures—how a stem bends, how color deepens at the edge of shadow, how a bird briefly holds itself in balance. Macro images delight me because they reveal repeating patterns and intricate structures that suggest coherence and care at every scale.
Beauty is not treated as ornament, but as evidence. Through grace, symmetry, variation, and restraint, the work points toward a creative source that delights in form and relationship. The photographs are meant to feel less like statements and more like openings—windows into a world that is alive with intention.
There is an element of surrender in the making of these images. Light changes, wings lift, flowers fade. The photographs arise from collaboration with what cannot be controlled, allowing the natural world to speak in its own visual language. In doing so, the work hopes to offer viewers a moment of stillness and recognition: that beauty is not accidental, and that even the smallest living forms carry traces of the hand of the Creator who makes beauty itself.
