MEET THE ARTIST

My name is Trevor, my Tag is GBScar. My life and Art intertwined in 2025 after being hospitalized in late 2024 with Guillaine Barre Syndrome, temporarily leaving me with paralysis in most of my body, even unable to speak, swallow, or blink for a while. During my recovery process, before I could even grasp a pencil or a brush, I began dreaming of using and painting with color and line to express my thoughts and feelings. When I could finally hold a brush, I began painting a little in Recreational and Art therapy at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital with some loving and wonderful people. Painting has remained with me throughout the ups and downs of my recovery process, and I’m still discovering exactly what my style and process will become. Most of my work displays not only the color I see in each aspect of life, but also mu struggle with ADHD which I have always struggled with. For now, I paint what I see in my mind or a glimpse from my past, always trying different techniques and manipulating the media I use. Each painting session is about discovering, learning, and trying to improve my expression as my skills as my abilities return.
