MEET THE ARTIST

I’m a self-taught artist who makes fun and silly collages, assemblages, mosaics, and mini-quilts out of mostly second hand objects, so don’t leave anything interesting lying around within my reach!

Much of my work is related to my experiences as a survivor of domestic abuse and the creative explosion which took place after leaving. I often make art about my next step and then find the courage to do it. Art has defined each big step forward while continuing to cultivate the unique and joyful life I want for myself and others.

I am in awe of so many incredible artists including Danielle Jacqui, the quilters of Gee’s Bend (especially the Bendolph family), Antoni Gaudi, Ebony Patterson, Nick Cave, Xenobia Bailey, Tyree Guyton, and Isaiah Zagar. I hope that my work can bring some of that spark of possibility, of celebrating the colorful strangeness of life, and giving people courage to keep moving along their own path toward healing.
