My work is focused on exploring old, more forgotten mediums in the modern day such as gouache and casein. Working from life by direct observation, whether in plein aire or in my studio, I enjoy witnessing the ephemeral beauties of a place. Aiming to push my mediums to their limits such as by over-saturating or scraping away, the mediums themselves seem to reflect the mysteries of which we live in. I tend to work on multiple types of surfaces and concepts at one time, as I find they communicate with each other and further challenge my perception.
